Next holiday, please!

Easter isn't until March 23, but really, there's no time to start shopping for it than right this minute, is there? Especially when something as excellent as this can be had:Williams-Sonoma thoughtfully dropped me an email alerting me to this item, which I must order soon so I can have it personalized.

Then I'll add a little grass (love it that this is paper rather than plastic).

A little candy,

a chocolate rabbit or two (which I will buy from See's because they are much more affordable and even cuter than those from W-S),

and perhaps a few of these, also from See's and insanely delicious.

And when we're done with Easter, I think the basket will make a nice storage container for some of the endless amount of small crap that my daughter seems to produce out of thin air.

One question: Do you think anyone will buy me this?

You're right. Probably not. But it is pretty, isn't it? I think it would make a nice centerpiece for Easter dinner. But then so will my roasted rack of lamb.

I'm already plotting my return to the grocery store to scout out the Easter candy. For some reason candy shaped like an egg just tastes better to me! :)

We are approaching Peeps season people! Don't try to tell me that they make them for other holidays now. They have to be chicks - 'cause chicks say peep.

can we ever get a break from spending money for holidays? the pressure to buy sometimes becomes too much and I wonder what we are teaching our kids...

Beautiful! Can't wait for Easter!! I started using tulle in the kids' easter baskets the past few years - it's still pretty, but less messy than easter grass.

That basket is adorable. I love plaid.

I wonder if anonymous 1 is the same as anonymous 2? Perhaps a slightly schizo poster who can't reconcile their distaste for our consumer-driven culture with their love for cute, decorative items? :-)

OK, now my mouth is watering. First, I'm (insanely) jealous that you live on the west coast because you can get See's candy ANY TIME! I've been in love with the toffee crunch ever since my grandma moved out to Scottsdale more than twenty years ago. Second, can we come for Easter dinner? Just me and the boys? Another love I inherited from my grandma is roast lamb (my preference is leg of lamb, but a good rack will certainly suffice!), and my husband thinks it's vile.
