I've been highjacked

That is, someone has appropriated my blog name, with minor alterations. Found it yesterday. Not happy. I mean, I sat around for days thinking up Figs, Lavender, and Cheese! And I had it first.

And you know what? This person lives in LONDON, where as far as I know neither figs nor lavender grow (I have both in my yard). And then she goes on about eating locally (!) and "knocking up some brownies," which means—I suppose—she baked them, not screwed them.

This very thing happened to Lisagh over at the Garage recently. In jest she suggested several renames of her blog that riped off the names of other blogs. I told her I would be absolutely fine with her renaming her blog Figs, Lavender, and Anything She Wants, but I did not extend this offer to anyone else. Not that this brownie-knocking person ever consulted me.

As I said to Leesie, who assures me my outrage is entirely appropriate, Harumpf!

It happens to us all, unfortunately. I've seen "ladybugs and lillypads," "ladybugs party" - harumph indeed.

Hmm...try naming your blog after an out of the way mountain range that few people know about. That seems to be the ticket.

Just stumbled across your blog. Love it! You seem delightful. Thanks for the workplace entertainment.

I haven't seen a blog named like mine...but for email accounts that I have used the same way I have been denied because someone else has it. I know mine is not original but how crazy that someone came up with the same. Just for the record...yours is probably TONS better!!

Well the original is always the best! There does seem to be a sudden proliferation of copycats lately.

You know I'm behind you 100%. I can't stand posers and I think they should all be shunned.

While being pointed at with derision.

Ugh! Isn't that just lazy of them?! We'll just have to feel sorry for them for not having enough wit to be original. It would be even worse if they copied your website content in verbatim, like the one I mentioned in my posts a days ago. Now THAT is deplorable in my book.

Yeah, like what are the chances that this planet with how many billions of people (?) would have the same blog name (or close) as yours?

And how dare she do such a good thing and eat locally?!

What is the deal with all the copycat blogs lately? I found a blog w/ a similar title to mine but I believe she was around 1st (and our blogs are very different, anyhow).

Oh my god! Where is this Brits Blog? I must check her out...you should go on and invite her to yours?

You know Coterie had that she had a blog called - well now I forget- but as soon as she took it off someone took it the next day-

So many people are not creative and just think copying is the highest form of flattery as you want to curse her I know.

Dont worry we all now who the real F, L and C is!!!

I'm sure her content will NEVER measure up to your (gold) standard.

By the way, I appropriated your idea of posting what's on the bedstand and what's back on the shelf. It's brilliant.

But I won't use the same captions because that would inflame your already wounded spirits, no?
