2007 travel or the
I've-Got-To-Get-Out-More List

Ripping off blogger extraordinaire, Mel, I'm listing where I traveled in 2007. And if I'm on the ball like her, I'll do one of these lists every year as part of an annual recap.

  • Homewood, CA*

  • Tahoe City, CA*

  • Truckee, CA*

  • Newport Beach, CA*

  • Denali National Park, AK

  • Fairbanks, AK

  • Anchorage, AK

  • Somewhere down the road from Yosemite, CA (our family summer camp)*

  • Comptche, CA

  • Cayucos, CA

  • Salem, OR

  • Grant's Pass, OR

  • I spent one or more nights in each of these locations and visited those marked with an asterisk more than once.

I'll note, however, that there were several cities I visited but did not spend the night in, or at least an entire night in. I think. We were on an Alaskan cruise and the ship often started sailing at night. In addition to the Alaskan cities listed above, we also visited

  • Ketchikan

  • Juneau

  • Skagway

  • Seward

  • Not particularly glamorous, and no one could call me a jet setter by any means. But listing these put a smile on my face as I remembered all the great times my family had on these trips.

In 2008 we'll be doing the usual holiday visits to relatives (Newport Beach) and ski trips, but we'll also be going to a guest ranch in Montana outside of Big Timber to celebrate my parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary (they both grew up in MT, and my dad's family had a summer cabin nearby that we visited often when I was young). We'll camp on the way in Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

The New York, Boston, Europe, and Mexico trips will probably have to wait for another year. Oh well—check back in 2009!
