So now that I've popped back out on top, I'll share my latest organization innovation. It's as important as it sounds: I have organized my cocktail napkins. Really. Just listen. For dining (everyday and entertaining) I insist on cloth napkins. But although I have a few sets of cloth cocktail-sized napkins, when I've got a crowd, I often use (it's hard to type) paper napkins. Some of them are quite cute. Witness last year's Christmas toile:
Problem is I generally spend a lot of money on these, use half a pack, and then cram the rest on a top cupboard shelf.
Ok, the top two shelves. Then, the next entertaining occasion arises, I can't remember if I have the appropriate napkins, and I buy more, use half, cram in cupboard . . . you get the idea.
So I bought this cute plastic accordion file folder and got busy with my labeling machine.
Problem solved!
I've discovered, for example, that I have enough Christmas cocktail napkins for probably the next two years. There's holiday savings for you!
However, my plan to store this in my floor to ceiling cookbook bookcase did not pan out.
Clearly that's another organizing project.

Stay tuned to hear about what else cheered me up, and it has nothing to do with holiday savings. Quite the opposite, in fact.

OK. You have a file folder for your napkins AND a label maker that you are not afraid to use. We might just be twins separated at birth. I am in awe.
What a great idea! You should totally send this over to the folks at Unclutterer.com.
But...HOW did you get that photo of the inside of MY kitchen cupboard? ;-)
I do the same thing. Usually, I find the extras AFTER the event I could have used them for. Story of my life. But seriously, you organized them?? That's fantastic! I should do the same, but I probably won't. ha. Love that Christmas toile! Love, love, love it!
Have a great day!

great idea to file them in an accordian file. I love my p-touch, I use it for everything!
Cindy,
You truly are a woman after my own heart.
And I love the ginger peach tea too!
Those Christmas napkins are too cute!!
Funny, I drink the ginger peach, too - it makes great iced tea. The file is a such a good idea - otherwise I find myself, like this year, buying a whole new batch of Christmas cocktail napkins... who am I kidding; I would do that anyway because they're so cute.
I think maybe you need to come to my house and organize me...
You are so organized! I am impressed.
